Structural Timber
Finnforest structural timber is an ideal raw material for the structures of timber frame houses. It is used in load-bearing vertical frames, as beams in roof structures and intermediate and ground floors, and as lintel beams. By using frame beams of appropriate dimensions, vertical frames can be erected as integral two-storey structures with improved rigidity. In the manufacture of building elements, the use of frame timber which is already dimension-planed enables the elements to be assembled faster and the thermal insulation to be fixed more tightly to the frame. Structural sawn timber can be used as beams spanning up to 5.5 metres. Pieces over 6 metres long are manufactured by finger-jointing.
The competitiveness of our sawn timber is based on the properties of the raw material and its machinability. As the slowly-grown Nordic softwood has an excellent strength/weight ratio, it is easy to install and work with and light weight structural solutions are possible.
Structural sawn goods are graded to strength classes C24 and C30. Dimensional planing and the rounding of corners make the timber easier to handle at the building site and speed up operations.
Exterior Cladding & Boards
Finnforest offers finished softwood cladding machined from top-quality sawn timber. The front side is embossed and the back side is planed. The products are of high quality and finished with priming and top coating.
Solid Wood Flooring
The floor is a very important part of any interior decoration. The warmth and cosiness of a beautiful solid wood floor made of Nordic Pine is unlike any other flooring choice. A wood floor is easy to keep clean and is a healthy product. The natural qualities of wood combined with simple installation, makes solid wood the number one choice.
ThermoWood
Profiled Finnforest ThermoWood® products are a perfect choice for external cladding and decking. Because of thermal modification, the wood has better dimensional stability and improved decay- and water-resistant properties. ThermoWood has an elegant golden brown appearance. It is suitable for such places where the lifetime of conventional timber will be reduced considerably due to the environment.
