Finnforest ThermoWood® decking products are manufactured from thermal modified Nordic pine. The raw material is specially selected pine heart wood. The wood holds its size and shape well thanks to its improved water-rejecting and decay-resistant properties.
Decking products are pleasant to look and touch as ThermoWood does not contain any impregnates. This makes it perfect for garden use – safe for children, pets and plants. ThermoWood is a good insulator of heat and cold, which makes it comfortable to walk and sit on.
The stability of ThermoWood gives the terrace a long life. To maintain the rich and depth of colour, its surface should be treated with natural pigmented wood oil or stain to protect the surface from sunlight and other weathering.
For the best performance, ThermoWood should be installed in above ground conditions. Finnforest Thermo-D corresponds to class 2 in resistance against decay according to the classification EN 113.
Finnforest also offers all ThermoWood products with surface treatment, which prolongs the durability and resistance of wood colour against weathering. The coat of paint has a uniform quality as the timber is coated industrially in a controlled process. Finnforest uses translucent stains with brown pigment close to the original ThermoWood colour.
Chemical-free ThermoWood can be recycled or burned for energy production at the end of its life cycle.
