VTT* studied the carbon footprint of four structural systems for a 16,000 square meters large roof. The systems were: Kerto roof + concrete beams, Kerto roof + glulam beams, concrete roof and beams and steel roof and beams.
The lowest carbon footprint had the system with a roof of Kerto boxed slab elements with glulam beams.
